United hoping to wrap up De Jong deal

Ten Hag named new United boss

Manchester United are hoping to complete the signing of Frenkie De Jong (3/10 to sign for Manchester United) before the end of the month as they try to kickstart Erik Ten Hag’s project at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have been trying to finalise the deal for De Jong ever since Ten Hag accepted the coaching job in Manchester.

After allowing Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard to leave for free, United are doing all they can to land their first signing of the summer.

Christian Eriksen (5/6 to sign for Manchester United) is thought to be waiting for De Jong’s deal to go through before deciding his next move, while recent reports suggest both Chelsea and Sporting Libson want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

One of the biggest transfer stories of the summer appears to have been settled, with Gareth Bale confirming he has agreed to join MLS side Los Angeles FC.

Bale was linked with both Cardiff City and Tottenham, but the Wales international appears to be heading Stateside, although LAFC are yet to confirm the deal.

Arsenal fans could be celebrating once again this week, with reports suggesting that they will make another bid for Leeds United winger Raphinha (8/11 to sign for Arsenal).

The Gunners had a bid turned down last week, but they are keen to finalise the deal, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Barcelona all pondering the transfer.

Raphinha’s exit could be the second at Elland Road this week, with Kalvin Phillips destined for Manchester City.

On Saturday, both Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest added to their squads as they try to avoid relegation this season.

The Cherries, who are 4/6 to be relegated, signed Blackburn Rovers man Joe Rothwell on a four-year deal, while Nottingham Forest, who are 8/11 to be relegated, paid a club-record fee of £17million for Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi.
