Tuchel taking nothing for granted

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is adamant his side still have to fight for points to finish in the top four as they prepare to host Arsenal on Wednesday night (Chelsea 17/20, draw 5/2, Arsenal 16/5 – Match Betting).

The Blues head into the all-London affair at Stamford Bridge in third place in the standings, with eight points between themselves and fifth-place Arsenal.

While some would suggest Chelsea’s top-four place looks assured this season, Tuchel says he and his team won’t rest until the job is done.

“We don’t know if we can finish second or not sure we don’t finish fourth – I’m not sure about it until the season is finished,” he told reporters.

“We will fight hard. We have a crucial four matches coming in another short period of time within like two weeks: Arsenal, West Ham, Man United, Everton. Two home, two away.

“These are crucial matches given the task of where we want to be and what we want to achieve. I agree with you that it is a big challenge in terms of the physical challenge, but also mentally to now dive into the next competition and in the main competition: the Premier League.”

Premier League Betting Odds

Chelsea will be without midfielder Mateo Kovacic after he suffered an ankle injury in the FA Cup semi-final win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell remain long-term absentees.

Meanwhile, Arsenal striker Alexandra Lacazette remains a doubt after testing positive for Covid 19 after missing the defeat at Southampton last time out.

Wednesday night sees three other games taking place in the Premier League, including relegation-threatened Everton hosting inconsistent Leicester City (Everton 29/20, draw 23/10, Leicester 19/10 – Match Betting).

Newcastle United and Crystal Palace both have a 12-point gap on the relegation zone and a win for either side on Wednesday would all but guarantee Premier League survival (Newcastle United 11/8, draw 11/5, Crystal Palace 21/10 – Match Betting).

In the later kick-off, Manchester City will be looking to return to the top of the table when they host Brighton at the Etihad Stadium (Manchester City 1/5, draw 11/2, Brighton 12/1 – Match Betting).

Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Manchester United on Tuesday night has seen the Reds move two points clear at the top of the table and City can’t afford any slip ups against the Seagulls.
