Today's Horse Racing Odds: Monday 18th April

UK and Irish racing fans have a bumper nine meetings to explore on Bank Holiday Monday, with no fewer than 57 races on the agenda.

The highlight is, of course, the final day of Fairyhouse’s Easter meeting, with eight contests running from 14:05 to 18:10.

The feature is the Irish Grand National at 17:00 and that carries Betfred’s Super Extra Place Race offer with Paul Townend and Gaillard Du Mesnil 13/2 to land the prize for Willie Mullins.

First up is Fakenham, where they go off seven times from 13:00 to 16:30, while they have eight races at Redcar between 13:39 and 17:44.

Betfred’s Extra Place Race offer is on the 14:49, 16:34 and the closer, where 9/2 Royal Cygnet sports cheekpieces and could be a contender after finishing third last time out at Lingfield.

Kempton’s seven-race card also carries the Extra Place on the 16:05, but the Rosebery Handicap at 15:30 goes further with the Super Extra Place.

It could pay to back 11/1 Something Enticing, who was a winner on her penultimate start before more recently finishing second in Listed company at Doncaster.

The other Irish card of the day is at Cork, where they have passed an inspection and host eight contests between 13:50 and 17:54.

An Extra Place is paid on the 14:25, where The Niffler leads the market at 7/2 after winning on his Handicap bow at Punchestown and then finishing a decent third at Wexford when last seen.

On to Wolverhampton, where their seven races run from 13:51 to 17:21, while there are also a septet of contests at Huntingdon between 13:55 and 17:25.

Chepstow’s eight races start at 14:00 and conclude at 18:00 and the Extra Place is on the 16:55. Tom Lacey’s Sebastopol could take some beating at 9/4, with connections hoping he can recover from a fall at Ayr earlier this month.

Finally, to Plumpton where their seven contest card gets going at 14:17. Both the 15:27 and the last race at 17:47 carry the Extra Place promotion and in the latter, Blame The Game holds 7/4 favouritism and a drop back in class could well benefit the gelding.
