Serie A Betting Odds: Inter seeking top spot

Inter Milan can return to the top of the Serie A standings but only if they claim a victory at Bologna on Wednesday night (Bologna 15/2, Draw 4/1, Inter 4/11 – Match Result).

I Nerazzurri are looking to defend the Scudetto they won 12 months ago and they can leapfrog rivals AC Milan and move a point clear at the top of the standings if they claim the spoils at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara against a mid-table Bologna side that have very little left to play for.

Simone Inzaghi’s side are certainly in good form, as a run of four-straight league victories has put their title hopes firmly in their own hands.

That ongoing winning run was kickstarted by a 1-0 victory at Juventus in the Derby d’Italia at the start of the month and wing-back Robin Gosens believes that result may ultimately prove key in the title race.

“I can tell you this,” Gosens told DAZN regarding the win over Juventus. “That win will bring us the Scudetto. Before the match we had been saying, ‘If we win, we’ll be champions’. And that’s how it will be, I’m totally convinced.”

Gosens, a January arrival from Atalanta, may not be fit enough to start Wednesday’s match due to muscle fatigue, while Inzaghi also has a hole to fill in midfield, as Hakan Calhanoglu will miss the match due to suspension.

Bologna vs Inter is one of three matches taking place in Serie A on Wednesday, with Gosens’ former club Atalanta also in action when they play host to Torino (Atalanta 1/2, Draw 10/3, Torino 11/2 – Match Result).

Atalanta’s top-four hopes have all but disappeared following a recent three-match losing streak, although Gian Piero Gasperini’s side did return to winning ways at the weekend against struggling Venezia.

Wednesday’s other fixture sees European hopefuls Fiorentina entertain Udinese at the Stadio Artemio Franchi (Fiorentina 4/6, Draw 3/1, Udinese 4/1 – Match Result).

Fiorentina were beaten by a resurgent Salernitana last time out, but a return to winning ways in this one would see I Viola leapfrog Roma into fifth in the standings.
