In a thrilling contest Kyprios denied Stradivarius a fourth Gold Cup by winning the feature race on day three of Royal Ascot 2022.
It was billed as a battle between the pair and it was a contest that did not disappoint at sunbathed Royal Ascot.
Stradivarius was walked to the stalls by trained Frankie Dettori before getting hampered on the rail during the middle of the race.
Dettori was able to find some space towards the end but it was Kyprios, with Ryan Moore in the saddle, who managed to edge out the famous victory.
Mojo Star was able to secure second spot, while Stradivarius had to settle for third in a remarkable race.
