Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants his players to seize their opportunity when they take on Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley (Chelsea 11/4, Draw 5/2, Liverpool 11/10 – Match Betting).
The Reds have already claimed one Wembley success over Chelsea this season, winning February’s EFL Cup Final on penalties, and they remain in the hunt for an unprecedented quadruple with the Champions League final to come against Real Madrid, while they are three points behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race with two games remaining.
This will be Liverpool’s first FA Cup final appearance since 2012, while they have not lifted the famous trophy since the Steven Gerrard final of 2006 when they came from behind to beat West Ham on penalties.
The FA Cup is also the only major domestic trophy Klopp has not won during his time with Liverpool (8/15 – Outright) and he has urged his players to make the most of their opportunity during Saturday’s showpiece.
“I’ve never won the FA Cup before and most of my players have never won it,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.

“We are really looking forward to this opportunity. The boys worked their socks off to arrive there with all the different challenges. It is a massive final for us and really happy to be a part of.”
Klopp has a near fully-fit squad to choose from, with the only confirmed absentee being midfielder Fabinho, who picked up a muscular injury during Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, although he could still feature again this season.
Chelsea (6/4 – Outright) are no strangers to the FA Cup final, as this is the fifth time in six seasons they have reached the Wembley showpiece, although they have only lifted the trophy once during that time.
Thomas Tuchel’s men were beaten by Leicester in the final 12 months ago and their German coach is fully aware of the challenge that awaits his side when facing Liverpool.
“It will be another hard fight, given the quality and run of form of Liverpool,” said Tuchel. “But this is what a cup final is all about.”
The Blues are sweating over the fitness of midfield duo Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante, but Tuchel has not ruled out either player featuring.
This will be the 141st FA Cup final contested at Wembley, with Chelsea having lifted the trophy eight times, while Liverpool have tasted success on seven previous occasions.
