Paul Robinson is predicting big changes at the top and bottom of the Premier League come Monday night.
The ex-England keeper told The Betfred Football Show he believes Spurs will beat Burnley on Sunday, with Leeds winning at home to Brighton to put the Clarets back in the relegation zone.
He’s also tipping Newcastle to draw at home to Arsenal, which would see his former club Tottenham leapfrog their North London rivals into the top-four.
However, Robinson does believe that Leeds’ ill-discipline, referring to the sending off of Dan James against Chelsea on Wednesday, could ultimately lead to them ending up in the Championship next season.
“It’s going to be a tough couple of weeks for Leeds,” he said. “Burnley have put in an incredible effort. Once a team relies on others [such as Leeds], you are in trouble.”
“It’s between Burnley and Leeds, and I think Leeds are in trouble. They are the last team I want to go down, but goal difference could be crucial and the amount of goals they’ve conceded is ridiculous.”
Discussing other crucial, upcoming games, Robinson believes Sheffield United have the momentum and will beat Nottingham Forest in the Championship play-offs – while in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday he fancies Romelu Lukaku, who is back in form, to score and help Chelsea win the trophy in 90 minutes.
The 42-year-old is also backing Rangers to triumph against-the-odds against Frankfurt in the Europa League final in Seville on Wednesday night.
Finally, regarding Sunday’s Premier League fixtures, Robinson thinks that leaders Manchester City will continue their goal-scoring form and win 4-1 at West Ham to effectively wrap up the title.
In the remaining fixtures, Robinson goes for a draw between Aston Villa-Crystal Palace, a Leicester win at Watford and home wins for Everton and Wolves against Brentford and Norwich respectively.
