Leeds United have completed the signing of USA international and Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson for a fee of around £25million, while Aston Villa have agreed to sign Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.
The 21-year-old has been a long-coveted target for the Elland Road side and now he has signed a deal which will commence on 1st July.
He has penned a five-year contract with his new club which will run until 2027 and is the first signing the Whites have made since they salvaged their Premier League status on Sunday.
Aaronson knows Leeds boss and compatriot Jesse Marsch well from his time in Austria though Leeds did try to sign him in January when Marcelo Bielsa was manager.
Two bids were knocked back and the deal didn’t go through but there was always confidence the deal would go through providing they stayed up.

A creative midfielder, Aaronson has scored six goals in 40 matches across all competitions for Salzburg this season, as they went on to win back-to-back league titles.
He came through the ranks at Philadelphia Union and has won 18 caps for the USA senior team, netting five goals.
Leeds are not the only team to have been busy on Thursday as Aston Villa (20/1 Top four finish) have agreed a deal to sign Sevilla defender Carlos for a £26million fee.
The 29-year-old has yet to complete a medical but the deal is expected to go through as Steven Gerrard attempts to bolster his defence.
Carlos was heavily linked with a move to big-spending Newcastle in January but Villa have now swooped in to sign the Brazilian.
He is their second signing of the summer after Marseille’s French midfielder Boubacar Kamara moved on a free transfer and the length of his contract has not been disclosed.
