Agnatius Paasi has signed a one-year contract extension with Betfred Super League champions St Helens (EVS – Grand Final Winner) but reveals his manager is speaking to the club about potentially staying beyond this new deal.
The Tonga prop has been with the Saints since arriving from the New Zealand Warriors in November 2020, and he has become an integral first-team member, turning out 36 times in the Red Vee.
Having been impressed with what they have seen from the 30-year-old, St Helens have decided to take up the option to extend his stay at the Totally Wicked Stadium for a further 12 months.
Speaking to the club’s website about his new deal, Paasi said he was delighted to remain with the reigning Betfred Super League champions and that talks over a longer stay are already ongoing.
He said: “My manager is speaking to Mike Rush, and hopefully, we can stay even longer; I am enjoying it, and if it is possible to stay for longer, I will do that.”
